Carol had some things to print off so we went to the Apache Junction Library. It is big and very nice. This guy was waiting in the corner. |

Doug and I have always measured how great our vacations are by the amount of weight we have gained. Carol and I have added a new formula for measuring how great our time is: weight gained plus tiredness plus frustration= A Good Day! We started the day by eating breakfast at our hotel in Mesa, the Sleep Inn. Nice place, clean, but a little pricey but doable. We decided not to change hotels, just spend the next 2 nights there while we waited for her to get possession of her park model RV on Thursday. Well, they were going to charge us $20 more a night just because that is what corporate office raised the rates to, on a Tuesday and a Wednesday night? Didn't know those were hot nights for the hotel industry. Anyway, we decided to move to a Motel 6 in Apache Junction to save a little money but also because it was the principle of the thing. After getting settled, Carol had a few more pieces of business to take care of then it was time to meet up with her old boyfriend for lunch. Don met us at a really good Mexican place where we visited for a couple of hours. Then it was off to take care of a few more items on Carol's list. By this time we were hot, stuffed, and pooped so we took a short siesta before it was time to meet Mary and Dale, the Canadians who Carol purchased her new home from. They had insisted on taking us out for supper, which was at a great Chinese buffet, to thank Carol for being their buyer and for me riding down with her. Little did they know that I was running away from home and that Carol was doing me a favor by letting me hitch a ride. (Just kidding, family, I love you and would never want to be away from you.)
After supper we took a ride out to the Superstitious Mountain Museum, which was closed but looks interesting. However, any place that has signs warning to watch out for snakes just isn't high on my must see list. We have talked about taking it easy tomorrow and just resting so we'll be ready to move her stuff into her RV on Thursday. I'm excited to see what she does with it but it is already so cute and updated.
I sure hope it's spring in Iowa cause I've had my taste of summer and I'm not ready to go back to winter.
